Took the left front off today and checked the pads. Nothing looks out of order. Went for a quick run and put some heat into them. Checked them when I got back and some of the marks look to be getting wiped off further so I can only guess that the wheel cleaner was the cause. Bloody happy 'cause I didn't really want to throw more coin at them at this stage.

Waiting on the new design PW surge to come out in January then all systems go for E85 :)

Whilst the rotors appear to have cleaned themselves up after some hard stops, I've ordered a set of Remsa pads. I'm going to keep the QFM A1RM's for powercruise etc. They do pull the car up well but I don't think they're an ideal match with the RDAs for everyday. They're pretty dusty, a bit dead when cold/warm and not very progressive. Punish them though and they're awesome. Already can see some slight wear so I think they'd chew the rotors out pretty quickly. The Remsa's are meant to sit between the HPX and A1RM so technically I've gone back a bit under extreme conditions, but gain for everyday with better cold and less dust. Like I said, I'll just swap them out for track stuff. I can swap pads in an FG with my eyes closed now, lol.

I know everyone loves DBA (and so they should) but whats the honest verdict on the RDA's? Did you absolutely flog them at QR and the pedal went to the floor? Or were you being rather conservative and they still went up in smoke?

I'm needing new brakes over the Christmas break - heart wants to upgrade (twin pot PBR's initially, now thinking 4 pot brembo's) but the head says I have a luxo barge and the stock brakes with some good rotors and pads would be fine for street duties.

The QFM HPX in the fronts were shot after two laps at QR - no pedal. I actually think they were a faulty batch. The A1RM's stop really well when you get heat into them but too dead for general driving IMO. I brake like old fart when driving normal too - nice long pedal. For people that brake at the last minute and get heat into them often then they'd be fine. You'd have no rotors pretty quick and black rims all the time unless you're fussy like me, but you'd stop ok.

All said, I think the RDA slotted rotors are fine unless you are tracking the car on a regular basis. Can't comment on the Remsa's yet but plenty love them - Mr Wiggum included. Will fit them up probably Monday and give my thoughts.

Remember also I've got braided lines and run penrite dot 4.

I think this combo will be fine for you mate. If you want to splash out, buy the 6 piston Brembo front kit for 2k provided your rims will clear.
