I'd rather go bigger turbo and 98 than run that. The E85 on the other hand is never less. Vevapower tests his fuel regularly and it's mostly 90+.Fair enough. Do you think that different servo's will have different levels of ethanol or is it different every batch. How hard is it to test the fuel? Wouldn't mind testing the eflex near my place. I have to talk to the tuner I'm going with and I'll see their view on it

Before that though, the fuel system will get the usual upgrade with a process west surge + 44 and, 1000cc injectors. I may do an E85 tune with the little huffer at that point to see what we can squeeze out of it. After that, GTX time. We're going to try something a little different there also in that I'm going to retain the factory cast dump and venom bolt up cat and see how it goes. The thought is, it may eliminate any boost creep issues and minimise lag. At the end of the day, I'm only chasing a solid 350rwkw so we won't be 'smashing my date'. The aim is to keep near current boost levels (13-14psi) and see what the GTX gives. Should the zorst not work to plan, I'll just do a 4" dump and cat to suit the 2.5" twin. Bring on the new year......and more coin, lol.Won this today too Edited 25/11/12 10:03 AM by Bomber

Not exactly sure why, but I've ended up with 'leopard print' front rotors. I've been speaking with RDA and they say no probs with the rotors. I really don't think it's transfer of pad material either although, the marks are slowly wearing off so who knows. The general consensus seems to be I got them 'too hot' and the spots are the formation of 'cementite' which is basically a change in the composition of the metal. If so, they're stuffed. They're two months old so not real happy. I bed them in as per the specs so not much more I could have done. Anyway, will work though the problem. This is around the time the spots appeared. Looking at them again this arvo, the pads seem to be scuffing the marks off. Some are almost back to normal with just like a waterstain outline. I'm wondering if I didn't clean the rotors down properly, this might be the cause given as soon as I wash the car, I do a quick run and apply the brakes a couple of times to get rid of surface rust. Thoughts?

Would be quite easy for the cleaner to react with a rotor compound.. Have you tried hitting one of the spots with steel wool?Or go try some hard braking..

Anyway, I'll make sure I drown them next time and see how they go. Makes sense as they have no vibrations or anything. It really just looks like a smudge mark. So if it feels smooth probably not much to worry about..
