wanting to drop as much power steering fluid and replace it.. whats the best way of going about it? on my ba xr6 I notice a oil cooler under the intercooler, is this the power steering cooler? could I just pull a line off and let it drain then refill reservoir and turn car on and fill as required?

Use two people.

Remove the line from the rack to the cooler.

Remove the reservoir cap

Start the car and cycle the steering left to right slowly.

DON’T hold it on lock.

Keep topping up the fluid in the system while you do this.

Watch the colour of the fluid coming out of the cooler line, once its clean stop the car.

Refit the hose top up and test.

It’s important to keep the level topped up as the reservoir is normally refilled by the fluid returning from the cooler.
