yo, seen some ba's for like 10 or so grand,

now I know they arnt as strong as the bf's but in saying that I dont wanna work it to the gills, just a bit of lower price tuning like a tune air induction kit ect nothing to flashy.....yet

just wanna know if a ba will be aaight for what im looking for?

Nothing wrong with a well looked after BA, they do have some minor issues but.

If you keep it under 300rwk it is one very nice car!

In saying this you need to go for a drive in one with 300 at the wheels and you will be in love.

Get it inspected... check the service history, test drive it for as long as posible, check for signs of wear interior etc.. and get as low kms as posible. ba's and even later models are known for common issues with diff noises, knocks, bushes, brake shuddering, blowing autos due to cooler failures.. lol to name a few

Stretch to as late a model as you can I got a 1 owner BA MKII last December low kays full service history, got a full inspection but stuff has still gone wrong valve springs and just yesterday starter motor. Im looking at going to a FG, BAs are getting a bit old.

I know what u mean about if it under 300 rkw mine is 320 at the moment with a water/air intercooled cobra turbo system I love the thing but I have just smashed my second gearbox in a year and I have no idea what im going to do I dont want to buy a new 5 speed if its just going to go again, has anyone had this problem I really need to find out why and how to solve it... maybe a 6 speed?? any help would be great

6 speed is the go mate.

I have a BA 2005 6 speed and never had trouble, The boxes are alot stronger.

Ive being pulling 311rwkw for nearly 3 years... and now pushing it to 370rwkw.
