Just received the bad news that it was indeed my motor and its blown. From your experiances or knowledge, what do you guys suggest would be my best options to getting this thing on the road? Any suggestions on where I can find a decent motor and how much the labour for an engine swap would be?

Thanks

just got off the phone to mechanic and he told me a conrod went straight through the block so im going to need a long motor. Called allfords and they have a ba xr6t long motor for 1750 so im thinking picking that up and getting the mechanic to put it in, he quoted me around a grand for the labour. Apparently the motor from allfords has 78k clicks lol ..

Why a long motor? did you damage the head. Short motor should be ok, if you go BA good chance it can happen again. Just go the BF MK 2 or FG F6 short brandnew, and if you mod it will be safe in the mid 350rwks. Extra grand that's what I would do.

well we dont know exactly how much damage has been done to the head yet, and to work that out the motor needs to be opened up, and if it is damaged then I have to get the head re conditioned witch will be around 1500, and it will end up too expensive for me. arghhh this is so f*cking stressful! I dont know what to do, I found a ba xr6t long motor for 1750, so im thinking I might go with that..
