I know a guy who did the whole rb30 into patrol conversion. was running 15 pound on 91. I told him it wont last. A few weeks later.... rings fried and 2 valves seized. But there is also the case of people thinking they can tune and people who actually can tune. Unfortunately the guy with the prettiest website isn't necessarily any good. You can keep going on about it till the cows come home but at the end of the day, if you noticed something isn't right you don't keep booting it hoping it will sort itself out. For some reason I see so many people doing this. Mostly Late model camira drivers.

It does not matter what noise is comming from the engine, they still keep the foot buried. So the engine was running OK in the first week with 98 octane and then I go and put 89 Octane in and blame the tuner for a bad tune. that's more likely what you call a good tune. sim302 Member 20 Member For: 16y 1m 29d Posted 14/08/11 10:02 PM Author Share Posted 14/08/11 10:02 PM Exhaust change, back to the first tuner and re-tuned. All sweet. Not driven until a week later had foot into it & helmet on heard it pinging then missing, damage done. (was willing to wear this, my fault must have been a mechanical failure no ones to blame ra ra ra should have heard it earlier). Engine re-built ran on dyno with SAME fuel in tank when engine let go, was TOLD current tune had several flaws that would have contributed to the detonation. Info of the flaws was sent to old mate, cant explain it. Now im outa pocket wads of cash no way of getting it back. I can deal with that. Maybe that it was a combination of a lot of things, quite possibly it was the tune or bad fuel. Only ever had 98 in it but how do you know your getting 98 from a bowser, is it not a busy servo, 98 bowser hardly used, has the fuel gone off, down to 95 etc etc... Was it on boarder line?
