Hi everyone.

I am in the market for a BF XR6T ute and have found a few in my state that I am interested in. I had put a restriction on only BFII or later utes but have found a nice one close by that ticks all the boxes. The only thing is that it's Mk1 and made in April 06. As I understand it, it won't have the Typhoon engine internals which will help reliability down the track. It has the 6 speed which is great and the reason I looked at only BF's and later.

My questions are; what are the differences between MkI and MkII other than the Typhoon rods etc? Does the appearance of the vehicle change?

It has low kms (less than 50k) and has complete log books. I will not be modding it for performance, only to add aftermarket audio and perhaps wheels. What should I look out for when inspecting the ute?

I am dirty after missing out on a similar ute. Was a BFII with gauges and a few other things and I was a day too late!

Any help and advice is appreciated! Thanks everyone!

I've had 2 mates buy xr6 turbos from auctions in Sydney. Yes u do get great deals. They can range from ex-fleet cars, stolen and reprossed. 3 years later and they are still going strong, One now currently pulling over 400rwkw.

Just make sure u do all the appropriate checks on the vehicle such as vin/ chassis. They do (depending on the auctioner) offer warranty aswell. Good luck.

If you aren't going to mod it then getting the stronger bottom end shouldn't be much of a concern. They tend to go bang when you wind them up over mid 300's - that said some have survived less some have survived more.

BFII got a different gauge cluster. Someone else will be along shortly to name all the differences.

If power is not on the agenda then get the BF1 if you thinks it's been well looked after.
