Hi all

Just thought that I would spend some time talking to you about my '07 model bf mk2 ute making 357kw atw

so mod stuff:

fuel - 40lb injectors, twin 044 pumps in custom surge take located under tray, process west rail

engine - valve springs

clutch - mal wood stage 3+

intake - HDI stage 3, plazmaman plenum

turbo - wastegate mod, 10psi actuator

Mike at monster performance did all my tune work, was really happy with what power we are making at the moment. running 15psi of boost and making 357kw. I was really happy with how the car does perform now! But...

I am now making the move to install the atomic 698-gt short engine, I am wanting more power and this is by the sounds of it the right way to go about making the engine last!

So far my ute us in the shed with the engine out, pulled down and the block is almost being ready to send to Atomic next week.

Will have a followup in the next couple weeks with how it all turns out.

Once again, hello to all!

Have a nice day :)

So where to start with this now...

Been very busy since last post. Engine has been removed due to a failed piston, but lets not get into that now still mad at the fact a dyno tune has cost me a new engine and a turbo!

Anyway!

Awaiting a 698-gt long engine from atomic, Brad is working on this as we speak which is more then awesome! MTQ in Townsville is rebuilding my turbo and modifying it also

I guess its wise to change out the clutch to a stage 3+

looking at making around the 400rwkw with all this, the turbo from what I have been told can be squeezed to around 420/430, with modifications.

when the cash is back up then I'll be looking into upgrading the turbo, and looking into the drive line, and what ever is going to give me dramas to get it to my final goal of 500rwkw atw!

Just thought I'd share with you all whats going on with the ute! Miss driving it so much though, its been on stands for around 3 weeks now but will be wicked when its all running again!

That's interesting..I had piston 6 fall apart after a custom tune.Which piston failed on you?PS. I went the atomic route too. Damn sweet motors. :-)Cheers.

Number 5 went on me, left really nice speed lines all the way down the bore. I will put up a pic for you mate, can not wait to get this all going again! :3gears:

so did you end up upgrading the clutch or is it still the same opt 3+?

I only had a opt 3, so now I am going with a new opt 3+ pressure plate and clutch plate also the braid feed line and the relocation kit, just to make bleeding this thing a danm bit more easy to do. I'd love to go for the twin 10.5 organic kit but just don't have the $$ atm so until I really go to turn this ute up I will make do with the opt 3+
