What exactly does an EPA approved intercooler have to do? As long as an intercooler doesn't add anything to the air that goes through it how would it fail an EPA?

Oh and note that a full exhaust and better injectors only made 5rwkw's more then yours man (assuming its a manual?), interesting. Irrelevant if you plan to do more later down the track but still.

Hoping the cooler kit will be on in a few weeks and making around 320rwkw, then we will see if I need to mod the turbo and do a pump and surge tank

Yeah you should easy. Looks like you've done your homework too, doing it exactly by the book.

Intake may hold you back though, should look into an Under Battery or Airbox, will bring the boost down to too help keep it safe.

Yeh certainly have. But when you say airbox do you mean a BPR box etc ?

My main aim is to keep the engine bay looking exactly stock. Obviously with a little bit bigger piping. Lol. But you get my drift.

So if I changed to say a BPR or Plazmaman airbox and the underbattery, will it change the look ? that's the only thing I don't quite get.

Yeah when I say Airbox I mean direct off the turbo, a blue power or similar airbox won't be as good but will still be allot better then the factory unit whilst remaining stock looking, leaving your battery on the right (passenger) side.
