I have the same problem with my car!

I had it tuned 3 days ago and now when I got WOT in second it starts to break traction at around 100kph and I get TC / ABS lights come up. I back off the gas thinking something is wrong and the speedo falls to zero and stays there. Only way to get the speedo back is to reset the ignition.

Is this to do with the tune or just a coincidence? Could it be my coil packs failing due to the extra load? Is it incorrectly gapped plugs as I have new plugs as well before the tune?

Help :bangcomputer:

ive got the same problem in ba ba mk11 gt-p manual. its also had a flash tune but it was done years ago.

started about 6 weeks ago I was driving all of a sudden the speedo and tacho dropped to zero, with the tacho coming back to life every now and again,

TC abs and water light coming up on the dash and the radio turning off. brings up a 'security error code' on the icc. I stopped in a car park and it wouldnt restart, wouldnt even turn over. All the road side assist bloke came up with was a semi flat battery. so I changed the battery the next day and it happened again 2 days later. had it into an auto electrician all they could come up with was the abs module but they weren't sure.

went away from there and it didnt happen again for nearly 6 weeks but then the speedo cut out yesterday driving home.

I checked the battery when I got home it had 12volts and thought id check the earth. going from the battery negative to the frame of the car I had about 4ohms, I would have expected it to be almost a dead short?

very frustrating

 mine does this with my 15" convos.

The rolling diameter is different between the fronts and rears. Just shuts everything down and I get every dash warning that there is.

I took my car back to my tuner and it had 2 error codes. One code was something about lost communication with the ecu and the other code he was not familiar with. Codes were cleared and the car has been fine since!

He mentioned something about the ecu getting confused with the car is on a dyno because the front wheels are not spinning and this could be why the codes were there. Effectively the car was in some kind of limp home mode all the time.

I'm glad it was sorted as I thought it was too much of a coincidence to have error codes right after the tune.

Front wheels not turning on the dyno should make no difference at all, that MAY be a concern if you were braking on the dyno, activating abs probs, but not on acceleration I would have thought.

JUST TO ADD, Check your connection from intake to throttle body aswell, some mechanics have failed to reconnect it leaving the rubber fold inwards beneath leaving it unsealed sucking in stupendous amounts of hot air lol... but yeh Coil packs switched and problem no longer there, now I can sell the car confident the buyer will have no issues :P doesnt hurt to check spark gaps too, I have no idea why it made my speedo drop but it is what it is.

Thank god for this thread! I have had the same.issue with my Bf. Caused the zf gearbox to drop into neutral then re-engage. Snapped my input shaft. spent months changing sh*t. I dropped the plug gaps b4 this happened due to an unrellated issue. Hopefully its my problem.

More to come on this cheers

I'm having the same issue with my BF mk2 ZF auto, except the ignition also turns off for a split second I.e. the ICC and my guages turn off and back on, the dash flashes, sometimes the headlights and engine turns off.

Since I've been reading this thread it makes sense that it would be my battery, it was drained flat the other day and I jump started it thinking nothing of it, also when I'm sitting there idling I started playing with the lights and it's like the engine stutters for a split second when I turn them on suggesting the battery can't cope. I guess ill start with a new battery?
