Most jap cars using a AFM will shot flames on gear change with a Atmo BOV installed, my old r34 did this untill a aftermarket ecu and retune was done.

I pulled my cat off one day to check if its collasped, it wasn't, but since I came that far I punched it out. other then smell, can't tell difference, as in power increase im having other problems atm to know.

Hey mate saw your other posts and are some of your issues after bashing the cat? Your tune will not be set up for this, unless it was hollow to begin with, might make the car over boost. Found this out with my old s4 rx7, before I understanded the consiquences.

If you want to minimise the drone of a bashed out cat get someone to weld a pipe through it before you reinstall it to your car.

There probably still restricting power even with twin 100cell cats as they are 4in and next to each other so gas flow is separated etc, not to mention what is the quality of the cat converter to.

Aren't 100cell cats illegal as I'd think even though they say or state they are does anyone have written proof that they aren't illegal in Australia and can pass emmissions or whatever is required for them?

Who would want to spend $600-$1000 or more on twin cats when a single piece of pipe does a better job for nicks...

My opinion.

Mate I live in WA, we almost do what ever we want. Unless you get a yellow sticker, your car never goes over the pit.

If the front section of the exhaust is lagged after cat removal the exhaust will be considerably quieter and not droney. I would think the actuator would control any turbo fluctuations if set correctly.

NZ is similar to Queensland with respect to cats. There is no emissions testing when the car is tested for "warrant of fitness"

I have a 5inch 100cel venom cat welded in to the factory zorst with the middle muffler replaced with straight pipes on my fg ute. If I gut the cat will it be much louder than it is already? Any slight power increase?

It wont be any louder but you may get a deeper note, it is fully bareable though and the ute will be even less noisier inside the cabin as far as drone is concerned
