Welcome! :spoton:

Steer clear of anything with a T5 gearbox in it.

If you can stretch to a BF with a ZF or T56 you'll be better off IMO.

Nah series 2 have the 6 speed T56. When choosing what car to get the main things are your budget, how much power you want and auto or manual. If you can tell us those 3 things it will become quite clear what car you should get.

ok ready lol,

the only reason im looking at BA's is because they are cheaper, haven't got alot of money at the moment.

secondly im looking to get it in Manuel

and lastly, not looking at getting any series mods done, nothing to major and if I do it would be An off the shelf tune with injectors a k&n panel filter and a lower cold air intake from a Typhoon.

so, now whats bugging me is not sure on what gearbox to get for this because not straight away but eventually I will do those mods and nothing more, so from all you're guys experience what gearbox do you think will suite me?

will I be ok with a BA 5 speed manuel?

thanks again guys.

Mate all I can say is DO NOT buy the 5 speed manual, they are a dog of a box and barely cope with stock power. I've been down that road as I wasn't lucky enough to stumble onto this forum before I bought my BA XRT, I ended up selling the car for pretty much that reason.

From what you have described a nice clean BA Mk 2 (comes standard with the much better 6 speed manual) would suit you perfectly.

okay, so dont get the 5 speed...

sounds like you had alot of sh*t experinces with that gearbox lol..

so any xr6 after the BA MK2 is ok to get?

basically any xr6 except not the BA MK1, correct?

thanks
