Yeah I tried this thread over at ford forums and they basically said waste of time go and buy an xr6t.

My local dealer is a pain in a**** and I won't ever go back to them. Plus I like my ute how it is, de badged, lowered front and rear (thanks to pedders), custom sub box to sit in between seats behind the centre console, manual, The list goes on. So I thought I'd give it a go.

For all my poo-pooing I can see where you're coming from having already done aesthetic mods. It would be a fun project once it's up and running, just make sure you don't start off with a lower than stock power level, chuck a nice free flowing exhaust mod and intercooler on, then get a custom tune straight out of the gate!

Yeah I'm currently only running the standard intercooler, but once everything is fitted it goes into my local tuner for the finishing touches, thicker head gasket, upgraded valve springs and valves, maybe an atomic cam, injectors and a herrod stainless exhaust 3 or 3.5 inch haven't decided yet with a tune. so I will build up from there and see what power it put's out on the dyno.

If you could get hold of a complete bf/fg engine and running gear then it might be worth doing.

Have a proper read through the 2 topics in this forum about converting from na to turbo. They have more than enough info on what to do, I really dont think it would be much different for an FG. I changed squirts and pump at the same time for good measure and put a stall in while I had the block out.
