Don't know about Ultimate Tunes, but ESP Racing in Queanbeyan was good, pricey, but good.

Maybe head over there and have a word to Glen. He made me happy with my tune.

Mate I use Gentech personally. Kit is very thorough with his work and after sales service has been great.

Last dyno day the ESP XR knocked out massive numbers.

If $$$$ are the driving issue perhaps just hold off.

I considered heading to Sydney for possible cheaper deals but not much good when living down here if I have an issue (too busy to go back and forth).

Worth the wait either way, both will be good.

Cheers Dave. I deff know what you mean about the quality of gentech work as I have delt with them before, but I just couldn't see why a shop with suck a good rep with the jap cars, skylines and all would offer less of a service if you know what I mean..

Sweet I'll give them ago, ultimate quoted $990 for xcal3 and 2 custom tunes, but I'll be doin injectors aswell. Gentech was 900 just for the tunes.

Good morning RJkennedy,

you need to be quite sure what you ask for, custom tunes are VERY different to generic tunes..

Custom tune is tuning the vehicles modifications to that vehicle, making sure all the fuel trims & Wot mixtures are correct, boost levels are within the vehicle & engine capability's..

Generic tunes are just that Generic. you will have to make sure that boost levels, fuel mixtures & trims are correct for your vehicle..

Im sure Herrod's will correct me if im wrong, the workshop that you had contacted for a quote $990 inc 2 CUSTOM tunes dosn't have the SCT software to tune these vehicles so how can they do a so called CUSTOM TUNE!!!

Regards

Kit

Cheers kit, I'm aware of the diff between a custom tune and a generic ( that I want to steer clear of all together) but I was unaware that they didn't have the sct software, they prob uploa the generic and check it over that's it. Deff not what I want. Thanks again I might have to see what you boys a gentech can do for me. Cheers

There's no shortcuts and no such thing as a cheap tune in the long run. You get what you pay for, so if you want to play, be prepared to pay. Kit does good, strong, smooth and safe tunes, and takes the time to get it right.
