I would love to do something like this. Reminds me of the Flying Mile in Nevada(?)

Would we have enough gear to cover a 1000mtr flat out?

How come no one came this year?

My brother and I went.. im pretty sure we were the only ones going over 300km/hr but im not 100% sure.. well no one took the 2 foot tall over 300 trophy.

We would have owned this event if more of us had of turned up.. easily!!

It was too bad my bro's ute has 4.11's as he was hitting 6th at 6300rpm way too early.. he had to drive up to the 300m mark at 60km/hr and try and nail it from there in order to snatch 300 over the line dead on... we realised on the way hm he should have came up to the line at around 270 then nailed it in the last 50-100m or so. The car has a 0.62 overdrive with 4.11's and 25inch tyres @ 6300rpm so what ever that work out to be.

Abit of history behind the 4..11's falls behind the ute once before being an NA where 4.11's was a good upgrade.. not so good with the turbs now though!!

It was too bad he never got it right but he did manage to redline 6th gear every run... even with missing gears LOL.

All in all we got 6 runs in and there were 75 cars all up that entered, the day ran smoothly and the guys who organised it did a fantastic job.

The only pitfall with the whole thing is there is no pre stageing allowed so your off the mark on cold tyres, also the run way is a little bumpy and covered with loose stone. To give you an idea on our 1st run he wheel spun 5th but that was with the semi's not being cleaned up yet and running 34psi.

Once the tyre pres. came down to 28psi and the dags were spun off they only spun 3rds and bit of 4ths here and there.

Hopefully we get more show up next year... im pretty sure the event is organised by a Expensive Daewoo car club but there was plenty of other cars there like skylines, supras, us and 1 other xr (which came 9th, well done btw), 9.5sec 1/4 capri, 180's, etc and etc.

If your running over 400rwkw+ this one is for you.. trust me you'll eat'em alive. :sungum:
