Hey all,

I have an FPV GS that I'm looking at putting an X-Force twin 2 1/2" cat back quad exhaust onto, I'm just trying to decide as to whether the varex mufflers are worth installing at the same time???

The exhaust I have currently had the Bi-Modal system which I love, but I'm yet to hear of anyone using the varex mufflers as I'd love the extra flow, power and noise of a modded exhaust but I also like being able to sneak out in the dead of night or rolling past the boys in blue.

I'm unsure as to how much they are on top of the normal system, so any and all info would be great.

Cheers

Howsee

After seeing two cars get pulled over to the side and epa'd within about 5 mins of each other entering macca's the other night, I'd strongly think about getting one put on any full exhaust system now.

I brought this up but was still unsure, heard one a N/A which had it on the rear sounded ok when open and dead quiet, even more than stock closed. For a outlay of $389 on ebay I think it's not a bad idea.

The thing is I'm only doing the catback system as I'm not chasing that much hp, it's more just for the note that's all and having the ability to completely silence the vehicle when needed

Howsee, I wouldn;t bother mate. I seen where one tuner put a full system on and made 3 rwkw's. He was a little disappointed as you would be, but did say how efficient the factory system must be, cheers

I have mates with these on their sti's running large systems with no cats... closed they are quieter than stock, but open = flames and lots of noise, lol.

I had one on my Legnum VR4. One of the best things I did. Only thing is that when closed it will obviously affect any tune as it only breathes through a very small hole and the power is hugely down. Cost me $500 installed at the time for 3" straight through cannon. Looking to do it eventually to the xr6 but have to suss out what happens to the car when closed

I'm also wondering what affect it may have on back pressure when in quiet restricted mode, even for a short time? I guess you only need it to be quiet when you're not getting up it. Can anyone shed some light on the negative effects if any?

Hey guys I enquired with xforce about a suitable Varex system to suit my full xforce twin 2 1/2" exhaust and they said that. one .. The muffler listed on their website doesn't even exist and two these muffler are not suitable for high powered vehicles when the valve is closed. So I'm not too sure as to what we can make of this information. so I have just left my xr6t as is and hope EPA

Stays away
