I wouldn't go worrying about the amount of boost also (unless 23+psi) as if the tuner knows what he's doing these motors can take such abuse you would laugh at it sometimes!

This is a write up from NZEFI in Christchurch NZ who mod the FG. Quite a reputable tuner of alsorts.

Stage 1 – 340kW at flywheel on XR6/G6E Turbo OR 350kW at flywheel on F6-310 (approx $3600NZ)

  • Hi-flow catalytic converter
  • NZEFI Custom hot side intercooler pipe
  • K&N air filter
  • Fuel injector upgrade – not required for F6-310 at this stage of modification
  • NGK Spark plugs (custom gapped)
  • SCT X4 Power Flash Tuning Box
  • Custom NZEFI Dyno Tune

Stage 2 – 375kW at flywheel on XR6/G6E Turbo OR 400kW at flywheel on F6-310 (approx $6200NZ incs stage 1)

Stage 2 uses all the same parts as Stage 1 but adds the following:
  • Plazmaman upgraded intercooler kit
Stage 3 – 480kW at flywheel (approx $16,000NZ incs stage 1 and 2)

Stage 3 uses all the same parts as Stage 2 but adds the following:

  • Fuel injector upgrade now required for F6-310
  • Fuel pump upgrade
  • Full 4″ exhaust system (Nizpro option preferred but other options available)
  • Full turbocharger upgrade on XR6 & G6E (not required for F6-310)
  • Turbocharger compressor housing upgrade
  • Nizpro custom CNC ported turbine housing
  • Nizpro custom long throw wastegate actuator
  • Herrod cold air intake system
Stage 4 – 540kW at flywheel (requires E85 fuel rather than pump fuel)

Stage 4 uses all the same parts as Stage 3 (except for the Herrod cold air intake) but adds the following:

  • Plazmaman custom intake manifold and plenum
  • Battery relocation kit
  • Custom cold air induction system

I would not be saying these motors can take abuse like you wouldn't believe they are not bullet proof you got to value your car and look after it.

The reason why the boost falls off up the top is because the motor is such a big capacity that with the pistons moving as such a speed it is able to consume a huge amount of air so the turbo pressure naturally falls as the motor has the ability to suck so much air in.

Don't worry about max power that's going to vary on many factors so long as you are around 300rwkw then you are good, worry about how the car develops power rather than max power it makes with the right mods and a good tune, the FG can have explosive power, I don't care I love it.

Hey guys I've got a fully stock 08 xr6t, been looking at some packages and the stage 3 venom package from horse power factory in dandenong looks the goods.. Just wondering if it's good value for money

With these mods they reckon at least 390kw and 280rwkw

1 x Before dyno run

1 x 12psi actuator upgrade

1 x High flow 5″ Cat pipe assembly

6 x 60lb fuel injectors

1 x High performance air filter

1 x SCT X-Cal4 Flash box & Custom tune

1 x Labour to fit, tune and test

All for $3600

Cheers

Welcome mate, yeah that package is not to bad, but it looks like it using the stock intercooler and piping

Which means you may make the 290kw but not very reliably.

Also stock pipes are plastic and have been known to blow at stock power

Do some research through this forum, or ask a few more questions as there is plenty of people that will steer you in the right direction

But end of the day it's your choice and your hard earned money

Cheers wilko, yeah I thought somebody night mention the intercooler/pipes..

If I can get away with just replacing the pipes I might do that, otherwise splash out a bit more for a new intercooler

Cooler and pipes are good upgrade, makes the power delivery much more consistent

I did 6 months research before I tuned mine

Where in Melbourne are you located ??

There is a lot of tuners in Melbourne, and few of them have some great reputations on this forum

Give Pitlane a call mate an have a chat, tell them what you want out of the car...

Mine was tuned there and I couldn't be happier with the end result

And they do a "full" custom tune, it's on the dyno for several hours getting it spot on
