That's from the most recent episode of Top Gear.

I think they mentioned it was a new model with a new gearbox. Is that right Brian?

Yes, it is the new model, but the gearbox is the same as the old.

Power is up around 10% on previous model, front suspension changed, bigger brakes, and new launch control.

My new GTR has already been tuned by Tunehouse, titanium exhaust and tune with just 1lb more boost, peak power & torque up 11%, torque up 25% at 2500rpm, and far better to drive.

An amazing car.

what power u makin brian ?? and in terms of sheer acceleration/power how does it compare on the street to a modded fg f6 ? and would u say they respond as sensitively to minimal mods as the fords do ? they are both turbo six big displacement and weigh around the same hence the question.

384awkw with just 15lb boost. Because it has traction it smashes my ZF F6 that has around 480rwkw, and I would think any Ford turbo.

0-100kph is brutal with launch control (3.0 secs flat, and I believe it), but with tyres that are not hot you can get all 4 wheels spinning.

There is a huge amount of go-fast bits and pieces for the GTR, more than is available for the Ford, and it responds well to mods.

AMS and others have heaps of parts, but it is all very expensive.

Car can be tuned for boost-by-gear tuning, and the lack of this is one of my major criticisms of Ford tuning capability.

Of course 100kph+ it isn't as fast as my other cars; my STi leaves it for dead with around the same power at 4 wheels and 450kg less weight.

Add E85 to the GTR and it will do 130+ passes with ease; E85+billet turbo 135+, and that it is probably at the limit of the stock motor.

Awesome car, and very easy to drive around town, and I drive the DSG in manual mode.

With the new tune it makes about 12lb boost by 2500rpm, so it is incredibly more responsive, and you can use the power with far more confidence than in the Ford, where wheelspin is a major issue.

Brian I would be very keen to take a seat in the passenger seat just to experience that! :drinks:
