RAP1D Member Donating Members 3,739 Member For: 18y 11m 5d Gender: Male Location: Sydney NSW Posted 21/07/11 05:56 AM Share Posted 21/07/11 05:56 AM Nah it'll make 350 on low boost but it will be laggier than a stock turbo at the same power level... then when your ready for the 450+ wind up the boost.Ive run a GT45R which is simiar on my old BA at 350kws for ages, the lag wasnt too bad.Decide the power you want and choose a turbo suit, such as a 42, fit it all up and just run low boost until your ready for more power... easier and smarter to start with a bigger turbo and work up to it, rather than getting a smallish one, say T04z or similar and then eventually max it out and have to buy another turbo... again, then change oil water fittings ect again.For 450-500 id look at a GT51R, which is smaller than the 42, but if you looking for 500-600 Id go for a 42, or if the coin is there, a gtx42.The GT51R will spool quicker but not support as much max power as either Gt42 or GTX42.The 51 has a 3.5inch inlet which makes it easier to build an intake for, compared to the 42s 5inch inlet... although a fabricated alloy 5inch intake does look horn!
