dobeat New Member 6 Member For: 14y 4m 5d Posted 19/07/11 10:41 AM Share Posted 19/07/11 10:41 AM 03 xr6 turbo, when I drive it for more than half an hour the back mainly the drivers side rub and heat up then stick. ive had the master cylinder ajusted and that seamed to work for a while then it comes back. there is no play in the pedal when this happens even though when I had them ajusted (master cylinder)there was play I dont know where to start next.it seem s it was ok until I got into the abs one day.please help .ps my sunroof got stuck open and it turned out to be broken wires on the switch. I complained about it twice to my normal service guys they never fixed it. I took it to MC2 Automotive in Dandenong last week and he fixed it immediately. Helps cos he knows BA's back to front. Mc2automotive Donating Members 16 Member For: 13y 7m 21d Gender: Male Location: DANDEONG SOUTH Posted 25/07/11 06:27 AM Share Posted 25/07/11 06:27 AM (edited) The master cylinder applies itself due to the brake booster.Replacing the brake booster will fix it, but it can also be fixed with a simple mod to the adjuster nut behind the master cylinder. Either wind the bolt in 3mm or put 2 washers between the master cylinder and the booster.Also machine your front rotors as the will have DTV (Disc Thickness Variation) due to the brakes applying themselves.I worked at a Ford dealer from 1998 - 2010 including 4 years as a Master Tech until I recently opened my own workshop.
