:censored:

Well, I had my aps phase 2 kit fitted last thursday, and wow, what a machine!.. The guys at Croydon racing developments supprised me with how quick it was finished. I dropped my car in on thursday at 9am and was driving it home by 6pm. one thing I would have liked added is the bigger intercooler, because at night and early morning it goes much better. I have a auto and was quite supprised from take off with my foot down there is no wheelspin but once she has around 3500rpm, she just feels like she wants to rip up the bitumen and take off. im very impressed. ive had 2 encounters with other cars and no one has come near me. a 200sx was trying to show off by revving up and all, he was modded up by the look of it too big massive exhaust and a obvious chome intercooler bulging at the front. once the lights turned green I left him for dead by about 4 car lengths! another was in the rain with a new model WRX STI with a aps kit of some description fitted. He fully underestermated the T too, because befor when he spotted me give it a bit. it was hard to get traction even with my traction control turned on. he stopped near me and said" that things is pathetic", I then replied" you shouldnt be so cocky, I dont know what you have had done but this thing is pretty quick, I reckon in the dry id give u a good run" he then said pfft this has had had aps mods, do u wanna try me (with a big smirk on his face). "I then said why not im up for anything" so the next set of lights we stopped and the road was semi dry but not fully, lined up then when green happened we both went for it, I firstly had the traction control retard me a bit but I still got him by a car length in a very short distance. he stopped near me saying u got a better start so lets go again. this time the road was much wetter, I said u will get me here for sure I wont get traction, I was right I couldnt get moving between the traction control and the wheel spin I wasnt going anywhere quick. I stopped near him saying I couldnt get any traction but judging by our first run I reckon give me a dry day I would have had him. anyway if anyone is thinking of modding their T I highly recomend getting the phase two sy system but if your driving on standard brakes your a idiot if u dont upgrade befor. I did mine befor I had the aps fitted and I think its neccecity. the drivablility is factory quality and on the highway my trip computer was indicating less fuel usage. I averaged 8L/100km all km done on hwy with cruise control on at a higher speed than I am suppost to do.usually id get around 10 or 11 litres per 100km. the exhaust is a work of art and its the only thing that looks different from the road. its slightly louder and deeper, sounds really nice and under full throttle she sounds great, with a much louder blow off valve noise but not rice loud. all aspects that reminded me of a taxi have gone. a few people say it sounds more like a V8 than a 6, but I dont think that. I am so happy I have had this done and if anyone has any questions just ask ill be happy to answer them. If you are going anywhere near croydon racing in silverwater drop in and ask if they can take u for a spin in there ute(aps phase 2 modded), They say that's all they need to do to sell u one. they took me for a ride when I dropped mine in and I couldnt think about anything other than how my car would be next time I drove it and the day just went forever.

by the way all the encounters I had with other cars were legal for me becasue I only raced to the speed limit, I dont condone reckless behaviour.

O baby! You sure know how to tempt the rest of us here mate  Did you get the phase 1 before upgrading to 2? I think I will have to take it one step at a time. Also upgrading the brakes is costly too if you reckon its a necessity then I believe you.

Congrats on the upgrade :censored: and let us know if it continues to perform well over time.

Cheers

nar just went staight to phase two, want a bigger intercooler though! brakes are a must, they are costly though, good ones are anyway. dont know what the dba upgrade is like but standard brakes wouldnt cut it, just plain dangerous. got to be able to stop befor u get some extra go I reckon. the standard brake pakage wasnt good enough for a stock t in my opinion.

um.....70kw more just from tapping into the ECU??? man that's an improvment!

The Phase ii kit includes a larger free flowing cat, with full length stainless steel exhaust and larger injectors as well as the Unichip. I think they also include a cold air intake.

I called into the APS workshops in Melb back in August. I was expecting a small shed in an old industrial area.

The APS factory is very classy. New building in a new industrial sub-division, not far from the hills where I guess they might have a few favourite test tracks. The quality of thier products is first class. That stainless steel exhaust is a work of art.

I'm waiting to get a few more kms up before the mods go on. But reading this thread ..... Hmmmm , can't wait.

The standard T is great, for about a couple of months. Then you get used to it and the ever present urge for more starts gnawing on your mind.

It becomes an obsession. :geek:
