Hi guys,

I've recently bought a BA XR6 Turbo, and whilst browsing for tit bits on Ebay came across a set of aftermarket flip keys with remotes to suit the BA models from two different sellers.

jezzaxw http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130545751188&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

and

ford-parts-are-us http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110714866943&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Odd thing is both ads have the same contact number and info which seems a little odd.

Anyway, the main thing I'd like to know is has anyone bought these keys from either of these sellers, and did they work ok? Also the instructions provided on how to sync the keys and remotes, does this sound right and are that that easy to do?

I was reading on another forum there was a group buy on something similar and all the ones to suit the BF models seemed not to be correct. Not knowing too much about these remotes and keys I don't want to be a sucker and buy something that is crap, so any advice would be great.

Cheers

Darren

I think I brought one off jezzaxw, I'll check later on my other computer as its no longer in my ebay stuff online.

You require to have two original keys first, unless you use this foil trick that may or may not work.

Then it is as simple as what is in the owners manual for programming the key and the remote, and obviously just get it cut by a good key cutter.

The car came with the two factory keys and remotes so according to the instructions it should all be easy.

Like a lot of things though it's always good to know that someone else has actually done it and it works, as there are a lot of shonks out there, so thanks for the reply.

Just checked and I did purchase from jezzaxw.

Make sure you get the BA falcon one as they do advertise them as model specific, so a territory one is apparently different.

I found the programming of the keys transponder very easy which is the setup where you are inserting the keys in the ignition.

It took a couple of goes to get the remote programming started as I think my timing was out, you know when its working as the door locks cycle (think it was door locks for that one). Just remember with the remotes you must do each remote again once in the programming mode (that means your current 2 working remotes as well).

I got one from a group buy on here,

although I had 2 keys and remotes, the key wouldnt take- it would start once, but when I turned the car off, it would not start again. fraud quoted 80 bucks, but my tuner did it for zip!

Got mine from a group buy from here, cut for around $30. I only had 1 original key so went to Ford and they programmed the lot, dunno if/how much it cost though.. I love it..

As far as I can tell, it's the same key as the Mondeo.

And the BA/BF/Territory key is the same as the Ford Focus.

However, I have seen two different frequencies - 315MHz and 433MHz. I need to confirm which one is for my BF.

As soon as I confirm a way of buying just one key (with minimal postage costs) then I'll get one and try it out.
