So I am in need of a clutch upgrade to coincide with my new upgrades, So I am tossing up between the 3+ and the 4, mainly because its only another $60 odd dollars to get the option 4, just want to know if anyone has the 4 installed and if it is difficult to drive with (mine is a daily driver) and If the 3+ is going to be a more driveable option I will go with that. My main concern is it being harsh when you are taking off from lights and what not. Anyone got one and care to comment on either the 3+ or the 4. This is going into an FG ute.

Thank !

I think the 3+ is rated at 460hp ??

the 3+ is great in my FG, it's done 60,000km of hard km's without slipping :)

but im not running your target power levels

got a 3+ in mine, I'm pushing mine with 450 odd rwkw and it doesnt slip. even loading it up in 4th or 5th still doesnt slip, as for driveability its very much similar to stock maybe a fraction lighter

tekaani, my only thought is its only an extra few dollars for the Option 4 just for safety sake is pretty cheap, I have heard very good things about the Option 3+ but like I say only a few extra dollars for the Option 4. Another question for you Tekaani are you running the factory drive shaft still or have you got an aftermarket one?

I'd be going the 3+ just for drivability. The 4 is cushion button.

Best bet is give Mal a call, he is a nice bloke and will steer you in the right direction.

I was told by mal that the option 4 will hold more power than the 3+ but wear faster. like only get 30,000k's from them.

my driveline is fully standard.

mods to the gearbox are:

3+ clutch and flywheel to suit

braided lines

mals csc

mals remote bleed kit

mals short shift kit. the rest is stock,

im thinking of going to a stronger input shaft and maybe a closer ratio gearset...
