We try to fix cancer and it's been around forever occuring naturally, we try and save our great barrier reef from the crown of thorns star fish and it's part of 'the circle of life' and a natural occurance, we immunise our children from sickness and disease that occur naturally. Whats wrong with pushing for renewable energy? Saying that it's a 'natural occuring event' doesn't mean that we can't try and fix the part WE are responsible for.

Hey Tim, no problem. The info from the scientists whom the IPCC would not listen to or accept their petition came with permission from the EPA website in the USA. The rest was from a chapter of my own book "Go Deeper" I have been researching this for 10 years, just trying to seperate the truth from the over emotional bogus claims too often made by those who have joined the new religion or who are on the gravy train. Flannery and Garnaut immediately come to mind :buttonit:

I love the justification of "we have to do SOMETHING"... well, when the SOMETHING is as useful as pissing on a raging bushfire and risking burning your willy off, its not worth it.

When will people learn that our economic resources are not unlimited, money does not grow on trees. If we waste our resouces on useless "solutions" we will not have the resources to find and fund proper solutions or take action when the solutions are going to actually make a differece.

Tim and Dule, I admire your willngness to "give up a little" in order to do SOMETHING, but in reality we are doing NOTHING to change ANYTHING other than negatively effect our finances and international competitiveness. Plus, you surely cannot be so naive as to believe the crap that Julia and her team are spinning. They are using economic models that minimise the forecast of the economic impact so as to ensure that people dont realise that "the fix is on" and think it will only cost a few dollars each. LIES LIES LIES, in a couple of years the extra revenue for the goverment (out of our pockets) will be huge and give them more money to waste buying votes and redisributing wealth from the resourceful and hard working to the unfortunate (who I feel for) and the blood suckers (who I despise). Redistributing wealth destroys wealth.

Why do you suppose that Westpacs Chief Economist, Bill Evans, has predicted rates will suddenly drop one percent in the next 12 months when previous forecasts were for rate rises? Guys like Bill will not be up front and state its because of the goverment as they dont want to "burn their bridges" with the government. The reason for the change in the forecase on rates is that they know the RBA will have to drop rates to avert a recession due to an inept and wasteful government seeming to want to do their best to destroy wealth.

Wake up Australia.

BTW - I was a life long Labour voter until Rudd got in and proved how inept this goverment is. I am ashamed to have voted for Rudd, but woke up and never voted Julia. Greens were never any good as far as I am concerned as their intentions are noble but so far from viable and so destructive as to make them almost criminally negligent. If somebody stole billions they would be locked up for life, the greens are virtually going to do the same by wasting it and we will be paying them in the process. Its enough to make me want to scream!!
