Hi all,

Just wondering if I can purchase FPV GT front seats (their much more supportive) for my 2003 phantom XR6 Turbo from my dealer? Do I need the vin and build No's of a phantom GT to order them and does anyone know the price ... maybe MS 700 could help here

Thanks for your help ;)

Welcome to the forum IM2QIK!

You are lucky, Ken is overseas, you would have a nice "warm" welcome by now....

I'll get back to you in relation to seats, a bit busy ATM, for your information, you cant buy the seats as a complete part, you have to buy all the individual components and assemble it yourself! :dirtboy:

Ill get back to you shortly.... :censored:

Thanks ms700,

What do you mean, buy the seats as individual components? Was hoping I could use my orginal seat runners and seatbelt pretensioners ect ect

ANyways .... look forward to hearing back from you for you certainly seem to have you finger on the pulse regarding anything to do with ford spare parts :)

ps: do I need vin & build# from a Phantom FPV GT to order these or are they generally available?

cheers

I wanted my reaer letaher seat to have an arm rest in the middle, was told by ford NO as its an option only for Fairmonts not Xr's

So I assume you would have to by the top half of the seat seperatley , but then what do I do with my one? too much stuffing around so I had to do without the arm rest.

Alrighty then!

You will need to buy all the components separately, for example the foam base, the foam back, the bottom trim piece, the back trim piece, the new headrest and its trim as well!!! Bit of fart a$$ing around, maybe get a motor trimmer to do the change over for you.

Anyhow, trade price for those 6 bits weighs in at $947.45 per side.

From what I can tell, that is all you need to do the changeover. However, ive been wrong in the past! If there is anything else, I dont think it would be major or costly.

PLEASE NOTE I am not sure about the side airbag jobbies. Not sure if you need them to sucessfully assemble them.

From what I can tell, you dont need a VIN to order these parts.

Hope this helps!

Any other questions, just let me know.

Al, nothing is impossible! You always could buy the Fairmont armrest swab and trim and do the conversion. Depends how bad you want the centre armrest!
