Guest scottse1 Guests Posted 20/05/03 12:55 AM Share Posted 20/05/03 12:55 AM 15000km service. Brakes machined again. Ford dealer says FORD are aware of the problem and will not be replacing rotors until the problem is resolved. Then the MOD KIT will be fitted. Until then they will only machine the rotors.Does anyone have any info on what the final modifications to the brakes might be ? Any thoughts on how the mod will be rolled out ? ie to all vehicles, or just the ones that have reported brake problems so far ?Has anyone heard when this will be released by Ford ? My order's just gone in (July build ?), would be nice get the mod fitted in the factory.. B) A friend with a V8 XT has very noisy front suspension, after only 800km it's creaking constantly ! Anyone else have similar issues ?Check your car for rust coming up through the paint around the boot opening... Seen a few in the showroom with this problem ! Guest esky Guests Posted 20/05/03 01:50 AM Share Posted 20/05/03 01:50 AM The standard brakes are up sh!t creek. I rang the Ford Customer line to complain about my brake shudder. The response was, we know about it and are working on it.Umm sorry, not good enough! Pay $50k for a car that shudders within a few thousand ks.And it’s not like they didn’t know about the problem either!

Apparently it's most common between 5-7000km, so will wait and see. Other than that, I seem to be one of the rare few without any problems (with the car, the dealer was a pain in the butt though). Only thing I found was one rubber band around a hose in the engine bay.
Guest IMTRBO Guests Posted 20/05/03 08:44 AM Share Posted 20/05/03 08:44 AM Is that the rubber band that prevents the hose comming off the turbo apparently you void warranty once that happens, they mention something about that in the manual I also think it causes the brakes to shudder throws off the 0 gravity in the car..... 3m building great parts for automotive industry

I now have to take it in to have a leaking coolant pump fixed after noticing the coolant almost empty a week after the service.

But that's what it's for, right! There is a problem with the standard brakes, they warp very easily. Some dealers replace the rotors, some machine them. Went down to autobahn and.......... hey presto $60 including freight from melbourne So looking in the manual on how to change the fog lamp bulb thank u Mr ford again 20 mins later shes all good again. So it pays to do a little bit of research. can save u lots of moola which can be put to much better use like 1 of those chips maybe........ might wait till cars got a few more ks on it I thinks
