Mondie,

I think ed-au-ba-xr6 is talking about the plastic suround around the base. Not the seat it self. Not a safety issue just a pain!. Having said that I have had my car for 2.3 weeks and can not faulty it (Yet!) Driven 1010km.. B)

Doh, l am a dumb phuck.

Glad to hear it wasnt the seat mount, just the cheap plastic surround. Beats me how things like this get past the many tens of thousands of km of test driving the BA would have went through before release.

Yes, you're right dude, Sorry Mondie, I'm talking about the plastic mound where the 4 way height adjuster switch is located. It holds the seat snuggly in the shape that's ohhhhh, so comfortable, so when the plastic moulding snaps on the right hand side, the cushion part of the seat moves with it so it becomes lop sided and very uncomfortable. To have it happen again in less than 2 weeks??? Unbelievable!!! I'm that close to calling and insisting on talking to someone high up. If Ford do not fix this problem by the time the 100,000 kms warranty runs out and I am forever getting this fixed, I want something in writing that this problem will be fixed free of charge until such time as the designers get off THEIR arse and fix the DAMN problem.

I love the BA but little crap like this is really leaving a sour taste in my mouth!!!

Hey turb06... I wouldnt worry too much about the brakes, ours has standard brakes with 4000 on the clock and no troubles yet. If troubles do come, there is warranty, and also its not the sort of thing that is life threatening, the brakes will still work, just shudder a bit.

So whizzer, you only have another 1000 to go hey? My rotors were screwed at 5000 and it wasn't something I was noticing gradually. 1st of all, all I thought was that the car needed a wheel balance. Starting to vibrate around 90+ kms. However braking was still smooooth. Go figure. I hope you don't run into trouble. The amount my %^&@%@$! car has been back to the service department since delivery, 29/1/03. It's just plain and simple B.S!!!!!

Howdy,

with 3900klm's onboard I've had to have a new O'ring on the back of the water pump, leak started on day 2. Now running at full speed.

Spoke yesterday to a friend who went full boar & brought the first 1 to come into Qld. This lad owns a panel shop & his car experience is vast to say the least. He's had untold dramas with brake pedaL dropping, rear end noises, paint quality, engine hesatations, driver's window going down at night time & so on & so on.

Being the sensitive type, I told him that's what you get when you buy the prototype/concept car. Also made mental note to never park near him in case its diseases are contageous.

600 klm's of the 2400 covered so far in the 6 months of him having it were done by the dealer testing.

I reckon he's bought 2 fords, his first & his last.

I remember a thread from a while ago about cars missing suddenly then righing themselves when turned off.

I have just walked in from driving across from Tamworth to the coast. The car was great - I was getting in the habit of using the SSS in performance mode to devour hills and overtake. So when I turned from the Dorrigo road onto the Pacific Highway I moved the shift across, and accelerated on about three quarter throttle. Off we go until it suddenly starts missing. Not violently, but not able to accelerate and just able to coast at 80 klms.

I thought it was electrical so pulled over and turned the car off. Hoping it would right itself. Luckily it did and continued on home.

What was the story with this again??

I am not impressed at this very moment!...

Friday afternoon/evening I came to start my car and no go!

There was just red lights on the dash, the stereo say's CODE and the carpark I was in was about to close. I rang Ford roadside, they tell me try the spare key. Nope, no go. They tell me try the factory remote since I told them I had an aftermarket alarm. Nope no go. I also tried some other procedure, but no go. They told me to get it towed to a Ford dealer. Very nice since it has only 1600kms. So I towed it to Thomson Ford the next day since the carpark had to close and the guys there are great. But unfortunately their inhouse electrician was off and back on Monday. They plugged the computer in and said it is spitting out too many codes that we dont understand and it has to stay here until then. I am not a very happy Ford man at the moment and the car on the back of a tilt-tray at 1600kms didn't help my anger and look good for Ford. I wonder whats next?

XRSEX you cant blame Ford yet, It might be the aftermarket alarm for all you know at this stage.
