PURSUTE Member 48 Member For: 22y 2m 24d Posted 13/03/03 02:56 AM Share Posted 13/03/03 02:56 AM Heres another one to add to the list of things to check. When my ute was first delivered to the dealer (Man, B/Brakes), I stuck my head under the back to make sure there was a 17" spare, as required for the big brakes. Sure enough there was a shiny new 17"wheel and tyre hanging there. When I finally picked up the car yesterday arvo, I had a quick glance under the back again and guess what, a shiny new 16" steely hanging there. WTF?!!!Went in to the salesman and had a 'chat'. He said he new nothing about it, but agreed that I needed a 17" spare.Turns out, some dumbass noticed that some of the XR's were coming with alloy spares, but didn't make the connection to the big brakes, so he went around and swapped all the spares for steelies and had a nice little stock pile of alloys.AAAAARRRRRRGGGHHH!! Way to make a customer feel cheated eh.I got the spare swapped over this morning so alls good now, but just imagine I hadn't checked. I can just see myself trying to cram a spare on, that doesn't fit, in the pissing down rain on the side of the road. Not happy.

The keyless entry remote stoped working. Known problem with the software on the keyless remote. Ford are reprogramming keyless remotes when you get your car serviced. Beware though, they need both sets of keys!2. Problem with the drivers side power window. It didn't want to stop at the top and would BANG into the top!3. Brake Shudder. Noticed around the 10,000km mark however was getting worse and Ford re-machined the disks at 13,000 km.Ours is a very early build XR6 and I was expecting there to be a few niggling faults. The main thing for me is that these faults are fixed under warrenty, without the dealer whinging about it. I am happy to say that all of these faults have been dealt with very swiftly by Ford and hence they haven't worried me.

Spewing dude. I saw my ute on Saturday when it came off a SHIP up here in Brissie. It too had 7km on it when I saw it and (touch wood) no damage that I could see...... They only have to get it across town on a truck, please let it be okay!!!!!! :( The dealer is under strict instructions (although I think they really couldn't give a s**t) to be in the passenger seat on the PD drive. Hmmmmmm, we'll see.

Yeah that's just a total joke OwnaXR6T. No doubt these braking problems with BA's are warrenty issues and should be fixed by Ford under the warrenty. It will be very interesting to see if this problem comes back. If it does I expect Ford to cover it under warrenty as well. However I expect it will be a nice fight to get it done though! We will see...

I am sure if you rock up to another dealership and and explain your prior dealings and concerns you could find a dealership that do what they are requested the first time, one can only hope or you will be reading the front page of a newspaper "FORD SERVICE MANAGER STRANGLED ON DUTY" only then they might start paying attention to our needs.
