In that case l would bet its a chirper, you just need to find some instructions for it so that you can switch the function on.

You would think that would be something that a dealer could easily arrange, but apparenytly not

Maltesefalcon thanks for the info, and please don't be shy to share any more you have like wiring diagrams, upgrade info, and ther likes. Promise we wont tell!!! And Nt did you get your old BEM back? Bugger I didn't ask for mine, Oh well if the Alarm BEM F*&Ks out it under warrenty. I also heard from my Ford source that a new Program upgrade came from the states and just as they were about to load it Ford Aust rang them and said DONT!!! its faulty, biff it out and stand by for another. This could be why your BEM upgrade didn't work. PS im pretty sure my alarm chirped the first time I used it then nothing.

Problems I've had

1.Clunk on changing gears(manual transmission)they tell me drive through it everything is within tolerences. I will complain about it every service till they fix it.

2.Smoke and oil consumption. They said they couldn't find anything wrong but after the 3,000 service it dissapeared just like that. I suspect they put an addative it it like wynns stop smoke. Will know after the next service as I have relocated and will be going to a diferent dealer.

3.Trip computer inaccurate. They recalibrated it but still not acceptable so I have started a worksheet. I even ran the tank down to 2km left on the range and only filled up 59lts

4. front disc warp at 9,800 km still to take it to the dealer.

Here is a pic of worksheet for your ref.

Hello Everyone,

Ok, to try and help you all with some problems of the new Ford Falcon BA series, I'm going to try and get some information from Ford itself.

In the workshop, we get these small, approxiamatley 3 page booklets called TSB's (Technition Service Bullitein) They come directly from Ford and outline the problem, how to repair it, precautions and other needed information.

I will try to get as much info from them to help you all understand about what problems the new Ford range have encountered.

Take it easy people and Happy Easter

I don' t think there is anything wrong with the amount of fuel that went in. The tank is only 68 litres and you have to leave some room for expansion.

Commy's have a 75 litre tank and only rarely can I get more then 60-63l into it.

Hey Maltesefalcon thanks for the info a real help as I haven't had my 3000k service yet.

One question, has there been any info from Ford regarding the whistling noise from the centre top of the windscreen? I reckon the seal rubber is too thin and vibrates from a vortex forming at the top edge of the windscreen. Any help here would be appreciated as I spoke to my dealer and he said the usual, 'haven't heard of that one before'

Brakes!!!

No shudder, only a clunk. Clunk happens most when releasing brake pedal after a full stop  Only started last couple of days. Might be something to do with all this bloody rain in Sydney

Hello everyone,

Regarding the rubber surround around the front windscreen, when you bring your ba in for service, remember to tell the service advisor about it so it will be replaced with a full (not 2 piece unit like I've seen).

I've also worked on a few ba's with a knock in the front after heavy breaking, this problem is solved by ford as well, the car is carefully checked underneath for movement of parts and components. Also tightening and re-greasing will take place.

Until next time, I'll try and find out what other problems are occuring on the new ba series.

Safe motoring to all :innocent:
