I don't understand your above comment.

What causes the power to not be there at all?

It's not just about 100% throttle and it's not just about cooling.

Each to their own though.

spending 5k on an FG F6 in nothing so I dont understand why you would be stressing over the cost :dontknow: why cut corners?

I got a mate who has an old AW11 MR2, the car is worth like 5-10 grand. and hes spent nearly 20K rebuilding it all. the thing is a go kart and would smash any xr round coners :3gears:

330 - 350 requires of you to fit a better intercooler, injectors and fuel pump. It will be safe and repeatable.

if you feel you need an exhaust after doing the above, fit one. Or lop the centre muffler off.

These cars are a different kettle of fish altogether to what most people are used too. In the old days you added bits steadily and it all helped as you went.

With these things? It just doesn`t work that way and it takes a while for folk to get their heads around it.

One of the tuners who you no doubt spoke to said something that put into perspective rather well when I started with my Typhoon:

" you`ve bought a 40,000 dollar car, and you wanna be a tight arse and put some hillbilly saloon car exhuast under it "

Conversely, you can spend 2 or so grand on quality shocks, springs and sway bars and feel the benefit every single time you get in the car...

I'd rather have the power there for a brief amount then not at all.

Thing is, after it gets hot, next time you put your foot down it'll detonate like crazy with no cooler.

Exhaust should be done last IMO bar cat.

Agreed, full exhaust should be the last thing.

Even if it doesn't ping there will be a reduction in timing due to the higher intake temps which means less power.

Hi all,

Thanks for the feedback. I'll go ahead and do the intercooler, injectors and a retune.

If anyone knows someone selling and intercooler let me know.

I was confused/disspointed becasue most of the "experts" in brissy wanted me to spend & spend and I only wanted slight gains in power not a full box & dice. They seemed more concerned with their bootom line/how much I spent rather than what I wanted...go figure! :)

All of the advice that's been received, makes sense. Ta
