Pulled over and turned it off, thought "please go baby" and turned it back on. No problem off we went.It happened once again a while ago, overtaking, wanted to go from about 9- klms/hr so depressed the throttle. Limp home mode again. That was actually really annoying. AMoffat Member 744 Member For: 22y 26d Posted 21/11/03 11:30 AM Share Posted 21/11/03 11:30 AM And,If you were someone who was relying on the power because you went for a small gap when overtaking - suddenly you are relying on the brakes! Shudder anyone?Me? No, I just watched the bewidered look on the octerian with the caravan (hate those things) as I braked back behind him.

Guest blueXRT Guests Posted 23/11/03 07:47 AM Share Posted 23/11/03 07:47 AM There has been numerous topics where it seems clips/clamps have broken/leak etc, are there specific clipsclamps that do this, any suggestions on where they can be changed in sydney and with what?? Zeke zeke Member 792 Member For: 21y 6m 13d Location: Adelaide Posted 23/11/03 10:11 AM Share Posted 23/11/03 10:11 AM There has been a previous thread on this called (I think)"dangerous loss of power".It is a major concern and needs to be adressed and a definitive solution found. To lose power during an overtaking move is potentially disastrous and there is no way the "software" should allow the car to deliver less than the maximum urge available while the accelerator is flat to the floor. OK, flash some warning lights, sound chimes etc, but don't cut the power until the foot is off the loud pedal - seems sensible to me!I can't really understand why this topic hasn't caused ongoing interest. At least the brake issues give some warning. Maybe it's only people who do a lot of country driving on B-class roads get excited about this - but one of the reasons for buying a T was the fact that accelleration means less time on the wrong side of the road. If the fire goes out without warning, all the T's accelleration performance does is give confidence that could prove false with tragic consequences!Yes, my T has done this twice in 4500k, the last time about a week ago when it suddenly stalled while driving in peak hour traffic at abut 50 kph. First noticed due to the steering getting heavy! Restarted straight away and no indication of any ongoing problem. zeke

Guest wannabe Guests Posted 23/11/03 11:14 AM Share Posted 23/11/03 11:14 AM some would say overtake when safe to do so, not leaving no margin for error because its that crazy little thing called error gets us everytime the problem is there is no way to allow for this 'error'. This is probably the major worry for me in my plans to buy an XR6T
