Well,

I just bought a new amp and ESP Ltd guitar. It is awesome and have been ripping into Slayer / Metallica tunes since.

It is funny that for not even 1k I could get soooooo much fun out of it. 1k these days doesn't even cover a set of bushes in the rear of my car!

Bang for buck;

You chose the wo part of the car to compare it to. A thousand dollars on a new tune is fun too..

Don't get me wrong, I love my XR6, in fact a part from looking a bit like a taxi and having 0 resale, I have to say it is the most fun car I have ever had.

I guess sometimes you just get fixated with the next mod, etc, etc and it never ends. Was just a different perspective to get so much for a relative little outlay.

Just don't tell my mrs I admitted that..... I still have many turbo taxi plans ahead.

Sensible response:

A year ago my wife and I agreed to sell the Alpha Spider and go back to being a one car (XR6T) family. I guess that I am lucky in that I am walking distance to the train that can get me to work in around the same time that it takes me to drive. The annual savings though are significant:

Rego - $550

Insurance - $1100

Maintenance - $500

Depreciation - $2000

A saving of roughly $4000 per year by sharing a car!

Well I've cut down from 3 to 2. The XR uses a bit of juice but to be honest it is worth the fun driving it to work. It's funny, I have always been useless with cars, had 24 in the past. I am keeping this taxi though, own it, haven't had a loan for 5 yrs. When it pops I'll do the motor, more power, kind of like a new car again. If I traded and upgraded I'd be spending 20+k just to be back at square 1.

That's how I am pitching the next atomic motor to my Mrs anyway!

Hasnt been getting much love of late, hardly playing it - even considering selling it :crybaby:
