I fitted a SuperPro HD centre diff bush to my stock F6 as after 89000km the original finally went. The car sits lower than stock, and has an awful knock coming from the lhs rear like a socket in a milo tin... I've had all the bushes checked twice in 3 weeks and everything is fine. I got NFI.

The knock was there before I replaced the bush, and it's still there.

As for the HD bush, it has a little whine, but I figure with a 4 inch exhaust, and new intake that will soon disappear.

Yeah I did. Went with Dan's recommendation.

Yeah he seems to know his sh*t. I've only heard great things about his stuff. Hopefully the turnips at ford follow his installation instructions and fit them properly.... I'll let you know my thoughts tomorrow night!

Wellllllll?

I'm thinking the same thing. These bushes are pretty harsh for NVH. I picked it up from ford and was a little shocked by the new noises I was hearing. My diff has a little whine also, more prominent at 110+ km/h speeds. Under that its fine. The car sounds like its got a system on it at the moment with more droning etc throughout the cabin. My concern is the knocking noises which appear to be when the car is warm, even under cruise loads where there should be no backlash... It clunks and bangs quite regularly now.

Just on backlash, it is bloody noisy now! Had it up on the hoist last night to see if they'd forgotten to tighten stuff, all looks ok. It's definitely much more harsh than stock. I rang Dan the other night and had a good chat to him, sounds like there might be other issues with mine as he said he can barely notice the diff on his car over stock & I trust what he says. Hard to think that a 27,000k car would have stuff buggered already though. I'll book it into somewhere that really knows suspensions & drivelines and see what they have to say.

Either way went for a bit of a spin out the road & the axle tramp is completely gone! At the moment its hard to justify the trade off though. I mean no axle tramp is great, but the noises are pretty bad & the car is my daily driver. I filmed the rear bush last night with the gopro to make sure the diff wasn't moving fore/aft in the cradle. All looked good & pretty rigid. I guess I could live with it once I've got a system on the car and know that its no going to break. All stock though, it def seems a little harsh but again I can't shape a correct opinion until someone that knows this sh*t inside and out says that what I'm hearing is normal. Could be something else in my setup that's amplifying my knocking / noise issues.

Wellllllll?

Check above dude. Work in progress I think...

Hmmmm, this does little to comfort me haha. I found similar issues with solid super pro bushes in my FG turbo manual. Heap of backlash clunking going on, my car only had 40 odd thousands kms. I'm wondering if it was related to CV's or the tailshaft centre bearing. I also had a Truetrac, which once setup with new bearings didn't wine at all even with the solid bushes. To be fair though, mine clunked even with super pro comforts...so no idea.

Make sure to check the condition of the thread in the diff hat after these bushes have been replaced a couple of times. Being an alloy hat sometimes means that the thread gets damaged if a rattle gun has been used in a careless fashion, ie wheel nut torque (read: apprentice) setting.

Thread repair is not good for the amount of torque going through there too - you really need to fit a new hat.

My F6 has 3000ks on it and the banging & whining from the diff is normal once you fit solid type bushes, I have CAT600 bushes fitted its the trade off for going solid.

My FG XR6T at 9000km with factory bushes clunks badly when letting off the gas, even when slowly getting on the gas when slowing down you can feel it. I got told stiffer bushes will stop the diff bouncing around too much like super pro comfort, but others here are saying it still clunks.

Is there a bush setup out there that will get rid of the Clunking that anybody has tried, or is it simply the limitation of how the suspension is layed out from Factory no matter what bush is used?

I'm looking for a solution to get rid of the clunking, but also want something that wont be too loud or have heaps of NVH. So far I only heard of reccomendations to use Super-Pro Comfort.

The clunking you're getting at the moment is from worn bushes Boris. The clunking others are getting (the same as what I had in my turbo with solid bushes) is generally slop/worn parts somewhere else in the driveline that gets amplified by the solid bushes.

I have taken my car to 3 different places, 1st place said there is nothing wrong with bushes, 2nd place said there is nothing wrong and if you put new ones in it will do the same thing, 3rd place said the same thing but mentioned new Ford bushes may help a little bit due to not flexing as much as slightly aged ones, so all 3 places said that there's nothing defective with my car.

I drove a new Auto GS315 which had no clunk at all, the head mechanic at my local Ford dealer said because the Turbos shut the throttle quickly and the V8's don't.

I got a quote from one place to drop the rear subframe and put Super-pro comforts in but only a 3 Month warranty given.

One guy here said his did FG did it brand new, I bought my car used so a bit hard to know how it would have driven new.
