Doesn't matter if it's a genuine part from another model. You've changed your XR6T/F6 to include a non-standard part. Your warranty won't be safe. I don't doubt the K&N replacement would outflow the one fitted on the growler, as it's larger, but the paper OEM, not a chance. So if people are talking flow and price, add $100 for a K&N plus the time involved to piss around and cut the box to suit the 6cyl bonnet profile. Get that wrong and you'll be sucking hot air. Doesn't matter if it's a genuine part from another model. You've changed your XR6T/F6 to include a non-standard part. Your warranty won't be safe. Not really mate, as the dealers I have spoken to up here in Brisbane aren't concerned by owners fitting genuine ford parts onto their cars, otherwise people who go fitting XR8 intakes and Typhoon air boxes all won't have warranty... I think it comes down to who you ask, the problem with Ford and FPV seems to be that everyone has different opinions, which makes it hard for the rest of us...Bomber, your maths is well and truly out, I have called Ford spares and the prices are as follows for the CAI kit:Front part $93.30Back part $100.30Total for JUST the CAI (no filter) is $193.60Add a K&N filter for $125.00 (I know that's what they cost because I bought one) makes it a total of $318.60. Now where you and Malarky are getting $450 from is escaping me, and there is minimal modifications needed to fit it, just lower the edge where the bonnet bulge is and refit the rubber grommets on top to keep the hot air out. You're saving a huge amount over a growler, which work well as I've used them before, but this is a more cost effective approach. The hard part would be getting one off FPV as Tab said they are probably a controlled item.On a side note, that fibreglass one looks awesome, it would be interesting if someone could find out more info on that cause that would be a very good intake system. Dealers don't make the call on warranty claims. Ford do.It's not like you will lose your warranty as a whole anyway. Just parts of it.
