For something that this country has been lacking for a long long time, the release of these new laws was done very quietly. And this may be an interesting way to test them.should I go back to the same dealerI think I'd be 100% right in assuming it would have to be the selling dealer. The stuff I've read talks about the retailer being responsbile, so in this case it would be the selling dealer. You might be able to get another dealer to diagnose and take it from there. If its a basic issue, it will be fixed. If it's a major, then back to the selling dealer and start "discussions""project manage" - we are talking about an engine issue, not building a high-rise shopping development!! Ha ha.It is a funny term, but if you've ever had to deal with Ford/FPV on a large warranty claim, they sure make it difficult and disruptive. My car needed a new engine at 3000km as well, luckily during the previous owners control. 3 visits to check the problem resulted in a request for a new engine. Took 1 month to sort out and she was without a loaner for the whole time and not compensated at all. When I got the car and had a decent look under the bonnet, I was worried I had bought a factory second. Missing bolts, scratches, loose clamps and as I've only recently found a damaged radiator.I had to deal with the damage to the transmission and turbo under my ownership. Both of which were eventually replaced.Hopefully it's only something small and an easy fix. But considering the small number of these that have been sold, the stories and things I've read are a bit concerning. Hate to see a new engine added to the list. I would not drive it..risk further damage3) wait for diagonse, hopefully it is something small and easily fixable..4) Discuss available options to get to fixed or replaced.keep a record of events.. But its only done 110,000km, new one please".I seriously doubt that would work.

The service manager called and said "all fixed mate, good as new", next morning whilst car was warming up oil was dripping like a tap. Booked it in to Sinclar ford who found 2 leaks, 1 from the sump and the second from the rocker cover where the gasket was hanging off the back of the engine (Both of which were supposed to be fixed). It lost almost a litre of oil and could have cost me an engine. I live in Campbelltown and if I ever need warranty work or a ford dealer I would rather lose a days work and drive to Penrith then take it to Macarthur Ford. I nursed it home which is 40 ks from mac ford..ring em and tell em what has happened and they tell me to drive it in and they will look at it...no chance... I have it towed and they look at it and tell me the bearing is stuffed(which I told em on the phone) take it home and bring it back tommorow cause they dont have one in stock...I couldnt believe he was telling me to drive it home after I had it towed down there..sh*t flew and I left it there with no courtsy car either... my list of dramas with them is massive...
