The key words here are "reasonable amount of time". That's the nice grey one in legal terms. What a customer deems reasonable may differ 'slightly' from a dealer, lol.

Hope it's going well for you Cranny. If not fixed by now, I would be making some serious noise.

I would deem a engine failure as a major problem, so you could tell them you want a new one, compo or your money back. There does not seem to be any waiting period.

It will be interesting to see how well these laws are tested, as I think the car industry is in for a whole world of pain when the public start to use these laws more.

Zap, how is it engine failure? It isn't even close to that. The car drives fine from all reports - its a noise issue apparently, which is minor (in reality, not to the owner of course).

I am all for Cranny having it fixed (and I would be equally annoyed if it was my car), but not giving the dealer reasonable time to fix will waste his time and energy and come across poorly to authorities. The relevant legislation is very clear on the process that needs to take place before a refund or replacement could (and should) be granted.

Agree with CBXRT's comments except, this has gone on long enough IMO.

Amazing really. I so feel for you Cranny.

I really cant understand how or why Ford have jacked you around. A new product they have invested millions in which has been bagged by the press and public alike.

If I was CEO I would be doing everything in my power to fix this and others that have gone wrong. And others have as well. As soon as possible. It's not like they don't have a great surplus of them.

My lease is up this month and there is no way I will be putting my name to a lease with any Ford again. Heaps of crap junk.
