Just a tip if it does go sour on you: pop over to performance forums if you need a lynch mob.

3,000 klm and unless he`s had a brick on the throttle in the garage I`m guessing they`ll fix it.

That said I can only imagine the guys anxiety.

But with any mass produced item, you`re going to have stuff happen.

let`s hope for a positive outcome.

Cranny, are you worried that they won't fix it?

They'll have to fix it mate. Don't worry about that. It's just a matter of whether they do it the hard way or the easy way.

Thanks Fellows I really do appreciate you guys support it actually takes away most of the anxiety.

On a positive note this is the best car I have ever driven the power is insane and the fit and finish bar any problems is amazing. I would still be this cars biggest ambassador.

I do not in anyway want to state that FPV or FORD make bad products and I hope that I didn't scare any one off one of these vehicles because they really are amazing.

I just found out today that a bloke at work owns the new R35 GTR paid 160K for it, the first track day blew a gearbox. just goes to show no car is bulletproof.

I think I will call FPV tomorrow to discuss options.

my only concern is exactly what bunna said the way the dealer handles it I hope that the technician that works on my car wont argue and try and tell me that my motor is a pushrod(like on the phone Today).

Thanks Guys I cant believe how much support I have gotten, we should organize a drive day so I can meet a few of you blokes when my car gets better obviously.

Cheers

Actually that doesn't really surprise me It's certainly not the first time I've read about the GTR gearbox giving up.

World wide BMW's 3.0L turbo has had trouble with the fuel pump malfunctioning and placing the car in limp mode. Some owners have had the pumps replaced more than twice! Also some reported engine failures with the M3 V8.

I'm sure you remember the Ferrari Italia 458s catching fire around the world. That was very embarrassing for the iconic sports car maker.

Funnily enough I watched a Fifth Gear clip a couple of days ago on the Brabus Mercedes 6 litre twin turbo as you probably know they build rocket ships for the road.Jason Plato

was trying to reach 200mph on the Autobahn...the car gave up the ghost and he couldn't continue.A Brabus technical team was dispatched but they couldn't fix the car and it had to be transported back to the Brabus workshop.

Yep,problems certainly can arise to the best of them.

Interested in the what has gone wrong! Just got a GS ute, not impressed with the power. FG XR6T feels quicker in stock form. Have driven GT 335's they are much quicker. Also the ute doesn't have the BI Modal exhaust, sounds like an FG XR8. If I change the exhuast to get a decent note I void my warranty if something goes wrong. In saying that though, I haven't heard of any other failures of the coyote engine. Will be selling it.

sim, makes me wonder why you bought it mate? Didn't you have a chance of a test drive?

I agree with you that the GS feels slow compared to the other FPVs, and on par with FG-T (as I have previously said on other threads.)

Changing exhaust wont void warranty though mate, I've done that plenty of times with new cars with no problems at all when it comes to rectifying problems.

I have taken on stock FG F6's with my stock GS sedan and been almost neck and neck, they are a lot fast than they seem. With regards to the urea they are tuned to run less power than the sedans due to their suspension setup, and the exhaust is very restrictive.
