They have their own technical problems too unfortunately (red ring of death comes to mind). It will be cheaper to repair your console than buy a new one. Don't take advice from the knobs at EB games, they're useless. Can't say I've seen the RSOD, but my brother had the 'yellow light of death' on his ps3 and had it repaired at a repair centre for around $150, so you'd probably be looking at a similar cost. Try calling these guys and ask them for a quote: http://www.acegamestore.com/

All under warranty from either sony or extended warranty from grace brothers (which suck balls).Standard repair fee for EVERYTHING through playstation aus is $250.First repair the bluray went, the rest it either would not start (overheating) or would start say 5 times and ended up at the same point of not starting, $250!All they do with the overheating is reflow the boards which they just sh!t themselves again either after 1 month or like my last one it was 9months before giving in. Its still under warranty until next year so I am going to tape up the air holes and kill it which then finally the extended mob will replace fora new model. My brother managed to scam a new model off them after only his 3rd dead console but I have had no luck with them!Check youtube for reflowing technics and also bluray repairs as I fixed a friends bluray after her daughter thought it was funny to jam 2 dvds and a few dollars in coins in there!
