As soon as we took delivery everyone took it for a wrap, which was extremely hard, Cairns to Port Douglas (dream stretch of road). That car did 60,000 km without one problem or leak. So ina nut shell 70km to 60,000 flat out.

bcl, is that a joke or is it real, cause it sounds like he knows what hes talkin about. Its hard to know what to do, why dont ppl just run their cars in softly, and just give it a bootfull every now and again, or would that hurt the engine too?

That site has been posted on other forums over the last 2 years.

The general concensus from other people who build/rebuild engines is to run the car in hard initially.

I'm not an engineer, and not qualified to give advice on the validity of the content of that site.

The article in Power News is absolutely spot on!!

The method he described is exactly what HWP Police have been doing for years.

It is essential to have frequent oil and filter changes as per the recommendations in that article.

We have a saying " If you don't hit 200 by the time you hit the Freeway out of Enfield, the car will be a dog for the rest of its life"

(We don't actually recommend that everyone go and do 200 + (though I'm sure CRO does) just to bed in their engine)
