Hey guys,

I have a ba series 2 xr6T with a 6 speed manual. It is currently running 270rwkw with the standard clutch. Its been slipping big time in the last few weeks, so I think its time for an upgrade. Just wondering what ppl are running and how they drive.??? It is my daily so I dont really want anything too heavy like a button clutch. I have heard that exceedy heavy duty are rated up to 380fwkw but im abit unsure if this is true. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

James

We have sold and fitted many Mal Wood option 3 clutches they are a lot stronger than standard but many owners have reported back they feel lighter on the leg then the standard unit.

Ive got a exedy HD clutch (would have preferred a malwood but at the time couldn't stretch my money that far) and I'm running 285rwkw and it cops a bit of a flogging. Clutch dumps and also go through the gears pretty quick with the the occasional kick and not a single bit of slip so far, the tyres give out before anything. But that's just my opinion on it and for its price (I only paid $800 for a full kit) its not a bad bit of kit.

Once I start going up in power it will be interesting to see how long it will hold for.

For perfomance in a daily driver, you'd be hard pushed to go past an Option3 IMO.

Ive had one in my car for 70,000kms now and its as good now as the day I installed it and there are other members here who have up to 350rwkws with no dramas...

One word of warning however....they use an organic disc and don't take kindly to being just "dropped"....but then again, neither do your unis or c/v's either.... :dontknow:

You can punch through the gears to your hearts content, do track days no problem.....but if your gonna' be a regular at the dragstrip, I'd get something tougher. :pleasantry:
