:ta: Oh how right you are Falchoon. Repco charge around $180 for a K & N for a T, everybody else was 140, difference was REPCO had them in stock.

Oh the pain of the free market place

 Yeah ms700 REPCO want $180 for a K&N xr6 T filter, they wanted $215 for an XR8 pod style. I bought a BMC to suit XR8 pod from Perth Exhausts for $185, still $30 less. I notice on your XR8 mod that you have two convoluted hose, as in an extra one joins where the standard one would have connected to the original airbox. Why is this neccessary, and what did you use to join the two togeather?

 Falchoon, very clever!

I got some quotes for DBA Gold rotors DBA504x and DBA505x some months ago (but haven't gone any further yet):

Repco - $245 ea

Diskpads Aust - $130 ea

What a difference!

I actually bought my slotted discs (not the Gold) from Repco as they were the cheapest, about $119 ea - cheaper than discpads.com. I got trade discount though, their retail is horrendus as you found out.

Are you sure that discpads quoted you on the correct discs, that sounds like the price for regular discs?

I have two intake pipes for two very good reasons. One is so the pipe can actually reach the XR8 airbox (there is NO WAY the original single piece of piping would stretch out that far, the XR8 airbox sits further away than the original XR6 airbox), and two is so the pipework still looks factory. I could have got some 3in mandrel aluminium welded up but it wouldnt look factory.

The two intake pipes are joined together using a short piece of 3in aluminium pipe.

Mick

I notice you mentrioned you used a bit of 3" tube to join the two flexible pipes.

Do you need to order another flexible intake tube as well as items below or is it included in one of them

BAT 9C676 A Duct from under h/light to air box $45.68

BAT 9626 A bracket that secures air box to skirt $43.76

BAT 9a612 A Actual air cleaner box $47.01

F50Z 9601 Air cleaner element $60.96

F80Z 9626 AA Clamp that secures lid to air box $25.23

BAT 9A628 A The lid of the air bos $19.44

Thanks

hypnodoc

Did you ever do your comparison of Xr8 Airbox and 56 Mainline style ?

Regards

Yes. 56mainlines adaptation was great, but the xr8 full setup isdefinately better, sounds good, lets in more air, and looks like factory
