GoodVibe Member 30 Member For: 14y 9m 1d Gender: Male Location: Campbelltown Posted 29/06/11 08:46 AM Author Share Posted 29/06/11 08:46 AM An update for my progress so far.F1 was right the balance was out on all 4 wheels but that wasnt all...they also found 2 buckled rims!!!! So after swapping the worst rim to the spare and driving to work newly balanced there is still a shake but now its changed, It has changed from a whole car vibration to just a slight vibration through the seatsBut still the steering wheel shake is the same....So the plan is:1. Wheel balance2. Repair buckled wheel (this weekend)3. Wheel alignment again4. Disc machine5. Tailshaft balance6. Replace front suspension bushes7. Replace shocks8. Auto extension housing bush9. Sell the f*cking car!Ill work my way through this list until I get this figured out
GoodVibe Member 30 Member For: 14y 9m 1d Gender: Male Location: Campbelltown Posted 18/07/11 06:55 AM Author Share Posted 18/07/11 06:55 AM Just an update on my progress in finding the source of my vibrationsSo far I have done:1. Wheel balance2. Repair buckled wheel3. Replace front control arm bushes - Thanks to Pat4. Wheel alignment - Thanks to Pat again5. Replace front calipers and brake fluid (front left was not releasing properly)6. Disc machine (Glazed and warped due to siezed caliper)I just picked the car up after replacing the brakes so I will find out tomorrow if that has fixed the last of the vibration at highway speedsNext is to replace the leaking shocks when I can afford to put in the good stuff.Special Mention to Wholesale suspension. Best wheel alignment and customer service Ive had from a workshop!
