Hey guys I am after some advice from some experienced BA owners,

I have a BA with FG 19s and stock suspension (as below) which has a shake on the highway that I cant seem to get rid of.

I have had wheel alignments, Balances and even replaced my old 18s with the 19s thinking it was bent rims causing it but, It keeps coming back :bangcomputer:

I believe my discs need to be machined as that may be contributing but is there any suspension parts that I should check that could be worn and causing this shake?

Prob need to be a bit more specific mate.

Shake from the front? Does the steering wheel shake?

Where is the 'shake' felt most, through the floor or seats? does braking fix the issue or change the 'shake'?

I'm only asking because I had an awful vibration through my FG ute, and it turned out to be flat spots in 3 of the 4 tyres.

Sorry that was very vague of me...

The car has just hit 150,000km 50,000 of which I have done in the last 12 months, Under fords advice I havent changed any suspension parts in that time (I just remembered I had a rear swaybar joint that they were supposed to order in for me but I never went back for it....)

Vibration is felt most during highway driving probably worst with cruise control set at 110.

It is through the steering wheel and the seats, seems like the whole car sometimes. Braking does change it but I think that could be the discs currently.

Tyres are fairly new factory dunlops is that a problem in itself?

Only other point of interest is that the local Jax couldnt get the castor 100% on the rear passenger wheel when I got my last alignment

I'd suggest going to a suspension shop and get it looked at. My BA has hit 150 000kms too and the rubber bushes were gone and I was getting bad brake like shuddering sysptoms, replaced them with superpro and the front end is sharp as now. My rear diff bushes are gone aswell, and I notice the car shakes aswell when accelerating lightly from 80km/h. When I have the money ill get them changed aswell and hopefully that fixes the shake.

Let me know if you get it sorted.

BTW I f*cking love those wheels, looks wicked on your car.

This sounds very much like my issue, Do you mind me asking how much the bush work set you back?

I think it will also be work enquiring with ford about the tailshaft balance when I go pick up my replacement lock nuts after they only hand tightened them and I lost one....

And yes I love my wheels! I was not sure about the colour combination but now I wouldnt have it any other way!

Well I got front upper and lower bushes put in, along with superpro lowered bump stops and new shocks put in all round. Labor was around the $450 mark.. Got the Bushes off Pat and the shocks from Ebay.. All up the bush kit was around $300 and the bump stops were about $60 but Pm Pat for exact prices..

The tailshaft balance sounds interesting..

How much did you pick up the wheels for?

Got it done at Hendersons suspension in Seaford.. Small shop, was recommended to me by another forum member and could walk there and home they were that close to me. They wont do the rear bushes though..
