definitely not for a track car. buy something small, light and nimble ! as some said, weight is everything ! buy a caterham or a wrx if you like 4wd. stripped out evo or similar will be an animal on a track ! :turboboink: you can but them from japan cheap ! forget the falcon as a track car.

For a circut car weight is everything.

There was a 500rwkw BF on this that could not crack the 1 minute mark on the clubman track at QR. @ lakeside they are even worse. Worse again at the Hill climb @ Mnt Cotton.

In saying that they are really fun to drive. But the more power you are putting out the worse they handle. If you can get the power to the ground then it just makes the front push all over the place.

If your out there by yourself it's great fun. If you are running sprints it's really frustrating to be constantly passed by a dick in an Rex or worse a stock MX5.

Sorry but that's utter crap! I race my Falcon @ Mt cotton and It goes great and for the record I'm tied for first in outright points See Here. Also Ive had It out at QR and I admit I didn't get under a minute, BUT for being the first time I've ever raced a car 1:12.50 Is pretty good. Now that my camber and brake issues are fixed I recon I could get close to 1:05 min. As a side note there were only 3 car out of about 50 that went under 1 min that day, Ones was a race spec Porsche 911 (59.50), an Escort with a ls6 (59.39) and a Suzuki Esprit (58.82) . Here's The proof MGCCQ Ironman Pages 3-5 are the sprint results for QR.

With that said I'd say go for it.

Mate that's pretty bloody amazing. And dam good times. I don't mind saying that's 4 seconds faster than I can punt my Ducati around there on street tyres and two seconds faster on slicks. How much falcon is left in it ??? Still wouldn't matter that is bloody good work.

Piccies plz

ps I am assuming your times are for the full track and not the clubmans

Sorry thought that was the full track.

I thought Mitch still had the record for the Xr's (well any large sedan) there at Mnt Cotton. And class O ain't against the Rex and Evo's. But bloody well done.

The guy I was talking about was getting 1'05's pretty consistently. And was getting the shoites that he was getting done by little rex's so forth. he like the rest of us was suffering either quite a bit of under steer or getting the power down in a strait line.

My name is Mitchell and I still do have the class record at Mt Cotton, but I've knocked it down to a 51.45 . Yes I did have a bit of problem with understeer at first, but that since has been corrected with more camber and better tyre pressures.

Here's some footage from QR.

it all depends on DRIVER and suspension/brakes.

in a stock performance XR8, suspension and brakes is far from stock, im running second in "race tyre" class in a Perth motorsport club in RWD class.

im running 2nd to a 996 GT3 CS (edit: by 0.018 seconds) ... caged and everything. only the AWDs beat me...

NOTE: for fast track car buy EVO ! :)
