Unplugging The Vct - Result?

Hi guys

This is a bit of a strange question but..

If the two VCT solenoids were unplugged, what would happen to the cam timing?

Would it sit at 0deg, or vary all over the place according to oil pressure/revs ect?

I beleive it stop the cam timing from advancing/retarding which would probably make it feel abit doughy and probably be down on power, but anybody feel free to correct me if im wrong...

I believe(personally) that it would be similar to timing being same across the board. I also wondered about a similar thing as I had a Vtec typeR dc22 and wondered if an HKS v-tec controller would help the ford any ?
