I wonder if being in Melbourne (I am in QLD) there's a difference in the delivery costs and I am sure there are discrepancies in the government charges. I'm going to shop around later tomorrow at the other FPV dealerships in the hope I can get a little more out of them. Funny thing is, I am buying TWO also.I took the GT for a drive today ... I really wish I had the extra $$ ... it had me giggling like a schoolgirl. That said the F6 gave me guy cramps and is unbeatable in the value for money stakes. Recently we paid more than that for a BF F6, although it did have 1500ks on it and a few mods.

I'd heard him quote the 56,020 but he never told me you got a ford employee discount included in that price, even the dealer we eventually went with had to be pushed very hard over a couple days to get the price below.Today we signed off on 2x FG F6's with tint and mats which aren't standard for some reason for $55,866 drive away. He thinks he had another dealer that would go as low as $55k but we weren't sure when the cars would arrive from them, the current dealer has 1 the black in stock and the white will arrive from FPV in a couple weeks. Most of the dealers he spoke with wouldn't go near that price and probably thought he was full of BS. Personally been dreaming of the day when I'd own one of these cars for just over 7 years now and next week is my time, very exciting.

Go in and say "$55K take it or leave it" or something and just take their bluff and refuse to budge on your price?
Divinicus Member 7 Member For: 13y 5m 6d Posted 07/09/11 03:35 PM Share Posted 07/09/11 03:35 PM It was spite doing some research here to get an idea what a good price was and not being rude about things when he was negotiating for us, the salesman knew we were serious buyers and a little bit of dealer competition helped us reach that figure over about 3 days.Basically one dealer wanted the FPV sales volume the other just wanted to make a sale and get rid of some stock they'd locked in as a Demo to stop other dealers pinching them.Had spite walked in solo I doubt he'd have gotten that price for a single car, bringing the second into the mix pulled the other dealer in and got pricing alot a sharper. Go in and say "$55K take it or leave it" or something and just take their bluff and refuse to budge on your price?Go in armed with the information to make a deal happen and lay it down.If you wave the money in front of them it's only a matter of time before someone goes, bah, we will sell it whether it's for $50 or just more numbers through the door from the suppliers. I just took information I had found in a number of threads here (thanks to those who post this info) and took some negotiating skills in. What I do realise is, we're getting ever closer to the Series II FG and the fact getting rid of stock is a high priority right now was a good time to buy the FG F6. As amazing as the F6 is, in my opinion the GT pips it for 'potential' and also raw guttural pleasure. The last thing any dealer or manufacturer wants is JUN plated cars sitting around at the end of the year. They will move them.Even now, at just under 56k I still think there was room to move but the fact is they are running a business and typically you want to maintain a good relationship with a dealer for ongoing service and warranty issues etc. We were really well serviced and looked after from the dealership and we felt comfortable with them going forward. The last thing you want is a dealer who hates you cause he made $1 from your sale. It's like complaining about a burger at Maccas, the guy on the grill is going to spit in it .Like I said, the GT is my actual 'pick' of the cars but when the prices are similar but you absolutely cannot discount the awesomeness of a F6 @ around $55k. No car comes anywhere near it for performance/awesomesauce.Once again, thanks to those who post price / date info as it helps more of us get bums in the seats of such great cars. Divi and I will post some pics up when we've got both of the cars together . Edited 07/09/11 04:07 PM by spite
