:stupid: TLDR !!! haha I'm with RHR though. I'm waiting to see exactly what the FG2 will bring to the table looks and feature wise before I upgrade again. Hopefully it'll be all that and more and I'll have my ass in one by the end of the year...if they even release it this year that is. New GT is sooo tempting right now though.

I guess it depends how long you can wait as to the direction you go. In saying that, there is definitely nothing wrong with the current GT either, so tough choice mate.

Best of luck deciding! :VB Beer:

I wouldnt trade it, unless you need to make a loss on it for tax purposes but then again you need to know what the depeciated value is as well otherwise you might end up paying tax on the sale of it.

I suspect Ford would not offer more than $40K at best, and using the Redbook guide possibly less.

Redbook F6

The options will add SFA from a trade perspective but would appeal to a private buyer.

You need to factor in the color as well :icon_ford:

I was told by Ford ball park 35k as a trade in without seeing it. Private Sales though on Carsales are around the 48 - 52k so may have more luck with that. The payout figure for the car as it stands is 51k so may walk out with owing next to nothing. In regards to the colour I love it! haha.. much better than the Acid Rush XR6T i had years ago.. and i actually like it more than the Mandarin Typhoon I had.

Had an interesting conversation with some senior people at Ford yesterday about the roadmap for future models. (My parents have worked for Ford Motor Company for the past 20+ years).

I was told the following that they feel that the FG Series II will probably be announced at the motor show this year but may not be released till next year sometime. They said to me with the release of the new GT only recently they would put off new owners with a facelift so soon.

They see the roadmap as the model cycle lasting 5 years with a refresh ie Series II at the three year cycle (which is around now) but do not feel the FPV vehicles will have a revision change at the moment possibly the normal falcons, mondeo, focus etc (as you can see are already being announced and released).

I did take a GS FPV for a spin yesterday as the GT was not available and to be honest didn't find it that impressive compared to my F6. I want the WOW factor and I didn't get that with the GS, maybe with a GT I would have.

I know what your going to say what WOW factor would you get with a Territory? Well i did have a look at the Territory too yesterday and even though it looks nice.. didn't WOW me as I thought it would.

For me the key things in a purchase are as follows:

1. Comfort

2. Gadgets - iPod / Reverse Sensors / Bluetooth etc.

3. Performance

4. Fuel Economy

5. Brand

I am finding that fuel economy is high up that list too at the moment.. not sure in what order though.

If FPV had a new model out now or even a series II i may consider that.. but I still don't know what I want to do at the moment. Should I try something different for 2yrs and then come back to FPV? Or Just stick with what I have (and I do love what I have at the moment - besides the fuel economy)

I got to play in a new top of the line terry a few weeks back.

The interior is bloody great. I could spend a lot of time in there. There are lots of nice finishing touches that seem to class it up a bit. And the 8" touch screen is brilliant.

As for the new front, well I liked it in the photo's but the more I looked at it in real life. The more I disliked it. Too busy, to plastic and I dunno it just looks out of whack.

And as for the rear... Looks the bloody same. Same thing side on too. It's gunna age very quickly.

It drove very nice. It was so quite and comfy. But getting out of my FG into anything is comfy.

We have a Disco 4 and it smashes the Terry in every way. And yup it's a lot dearer. But it's so much more of a car. The 3.0 diesel is so much quicker. The inside of the Disco is so much more refined and classy. And the Disco will go anywhere any time.

I would keep the F6 and wait for the FGII. Or get out of a Ford

If fuel economy is important you can probably rule out the entire Ford Performance range.
