Its an engine out job. The best thing to do is to find someone with similar power and get them to test drive it or find out what speed it does in 400m

Should a typhoon that has 130,000km on the clock be trusted enough mechanically to buy? It will be going straight into the hands of another tuner - one I trust. Or do these cars lose there "thing" after so many km's??

Maybe you should keep saving so you can get something lower ks.

I have been looking at two cars 1 is a blue 06 typhoon which has 130,000km (or127,000km if ya wanna be technical) for NZ$25k and the other is a silver 06 phoon with 38,000km on it for NZ$38. The bionic blue one has been well looked after with a full service history etc. 130,000km for a 4l turbo motor is stuff all for the size of the motor. I mean if it was a 1600cc then Id reconsider I mean really what parts would you be more concerned about breaking with higher km's???Turbo - recently replaced due to the oil feed problemPistons/con rods - would be replaced anyway as I want to mod it straight away with the goal of 400rwkw in mindAuto trans - dont know much about the 6spd gear boxes but I would have thought it could be a problem after all those km's Edited 12/06/11 07:38 AM by osonvs
