Hey, I was there aswell. Ran a pb of 12.1 @ 118mph on street tyres.

I would have come round and had a chat with you guys but it was too bloody cold and stayed in the car a fair bit.

Going back in a week or 2 with some different rear tyres if I can track some down.

Mate top effort!

I can't understand why the magazines can bearly manage flat 13's when the majority

of the owners out there are running mid to high 12's. I know there are alot of external factors

but wouldn't you think they would choose the right time to pull a good number?

It's almost like they want the FPV's and HSV's to be close in quarter numbers??

VE HSV's which I've seen barely run flat 13's, FPV's far superior!!!

Do you think you can push an 11.99? That would be porshe territory!!

I doubt the mag testers ever reveal their 60' times.

If they don't do proper launch it's more likely to be a 2.2 second launch, and 13 second pass.

I prefer to just focus on the trap speed to get a better idea of power.

Guys like Jim with a lot of passes behind him, and driving the car all the time, know how to launch the car to get an excellent time.

Hopefully next time won't be so cold (good for turbo's though) and not so many cars there. Only got 3 runs Wednesday night where about a month ago I got 6 in and still left early.

Next time I'm heading out I'll post it up beforehand to see who else is going

Thanks ALF05T, would have to nail a 1.6 or low 1.7 60 foot for a 11.99, very unlikely in a stock car

Spook im keen if your going out again

Would like to try legal street tyres next, see how close I can come to the 12.2, looking at the NT05's as my dunlops are on the wear indicators, need to wait 4 weeks till theres stock in aust.

I was there as well in a white BA xr6t Ute manual I had a Pb of 12.72 2.1 60 foot [street tires] @117 mph we should all organize to race after state of origin.

how do you launch? I have a manual but my mate has a ba auto sedan and he could only get 2.2s he said that was stalling it up as much as the stocker would let. what rpm do the fgs stall to stock? 12.2 is pretty quick for completely stock...
