Hey guys,

Ive got a hold of a intercooler, that was way too cheap to say no to! Problem is, I thik it may be way too long, it's 600x300!

Will it fit between the chassis rails, can I make it fit cutting chassis out?

Or another option... Could I cut the end tank off, shorten the intercooler and re-weld to suite?

Any tips would be a HUGE help!

Thanks

Sound like a lot of hard work to save a few $$$... pretty sure it wont fit without cutting a fair chunk out of the front bar.....then the piping may hit the bumber when re fitted...

I'm not sure why anyone would bother with this approach given the amount of proven coolers available for these cars.

It was cheap and doesn't fit. Do you know if that brand of cooler is actually any good to begin with? Does it perform well?

Nah not too sure about the brand.....just so cheap couldnt say no, but if it dont fit theres no point I guess.

Im not sure if I want to keep spending money just yet, so any cheaper suggestions may get me keen??

Im running 400rwhp at the moment, if I upgrade again I wouldnt mind 420-430 horses out the back. would love more but Im starting to get over it.

It can be done and centred. But like others have said you gotta cut the whole bottom lip off the front reo bar then weld the corner that is left behind. Also the A/c line needs to be bent out of the way a ridiculous amount without kinking or breaking. The other A/c fitting attached to the condensor would need to be behind the intercooler if you want it to be centred.
